When a program is designed to prevent you from copying or sharing a song, reading an ebook on another device, or playing a single-player game without an Internet connection, you are being restricted by DRM.} Watching most commercial \acronym{DVD}s and some video files may require you to install additional software. You will need ``codecs'' for Ubuntu to decode proprietary music and video files as well as for music and video files encumbered by \acronym{DRM}.
