It is written specifically for Ubuntu 12.04 \smallcaps{LTS}, \marginnote{LTS is an abbreviation for ``Long Term Support.'' A new LTS version is released every 2 years. Starting with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, both the Desktop version and the Server version will have five years support, meaning you get free security updates for at least five years.} and although we have aimed to not limit our instructions to this version, it is unavoidable that some things will change over the life of Ubuntu.
