The <emphasis>Ubuntu One Music Store</emphasis> sells music from major and minor music labels around the world. The store offers non-DRM (no copy protection) songs encoded in either high quality MP3 or AAC format. Ubuntu does not come with support for MP3 playback, but the store will install the proper codecs automatically for free. You can browse the catalog, play previews, and buy songs by choosing <guilabel>Ubuntu One</guilabel> in the <guilabel>Stores</guilabel> list in the side pane.

When the Volume Control opens, click on the <guibutton>Input</guibutton> tab and make sure that your microphone is selected as the device for sound input. Check to make sure that the microphone is not muted and that the input volume is an adequate level. If your primary input device is a sound card (for a microphone with a small jack) then be sure that the correct port is selected in the <guibutton>Connector</guibutton> drop-down menu.

Under the <guilabel>Hardware</guilabel> tab, make sure that your input device is listed. If it is, check to see if the <guibutton>Profile</guibutton> for the device is set for correct input. If your device is not listed, then either the device is not correctly connected to the computer or the sound card/microphone is not a supported device for input.
