The <command>mv</command> command moves a file to a different location or will rename a file. Examples are as follows: <screen>mv foo bar</screen> will rename the file <filename>foo</filename> to <filename>bar</filename>. <screen>mv foo ~/Desktop</screen> will move the file <filename>foo</filename> to your <filename class="directory">Desktop</filename> directory but will not rename it.
Kommandoen <command>mv</command> flytter en fil til en annen mappe eller gir filen et nytt navn. Eksempler på dette er som følger: <screen>mv filnavn1 filnavn2</screen> vil omdøpe filen <filename>filnavn1</filename> til <filename>filnavn2</filename>. <screen>mv filnavn1 ~/Desktop</screen> vil flytte filen <filename>filnavn1</filename> til din <filename class="directory">Desktop</filename> mappe, men filen beholder navnet som før.
