TRANS On @gnuhurdsystems{}, servers supporting the @code{term} protocol return
TRANS this error for certain operations when the caller is not in the
TRANS foreground process group of the terminal.  Users do not usually see this
TRANS error because functions such as @code{read} and @code{write} translate
TRANS it into a @code{SIGTTIN} or @code{SIGTTOU} signal.  @xref{Job Control},
