one of your own or one from somebody else that is copyable to you.</p>

<p>If you set a parent authority, users will be able to log in using that authority as well as via SSO.</p>
<p>For example, you could set up LDAP authentication and have that be the parent of this authority. That means that users will be able to log in via Mahara's inbuilt login forms using their LDAP details, as well as via SSO from an external authentication.</p>

<p>Choose whether other people may add you to their friends list. If you are added to a friends list, the owner of that list is added to your list as well. When you remove someone from your friends list, you are also removed from their list. Choose either:</p>
<p><strong>Nobody may add me as a friend:</strong> no one may add you to their list.</p>
<p><strong>New friends require my authorisation:</strong> your authorisation is needed for you to be added to a list. If you approve, they will be added to your list.</p>
<p><strong>New friends are automatically authorised:</strong> anyone may add you to their list.</p>

<p>A page contains a selection of artefacts which you arrange and present to

<h2>Collections</h2>
<p>A collection is a set of pages that are linked to one another and have the
same access permissions. You can create as many collections as you like, but a page cannot appear in more than one collection.</p>
<p>You can create a collection from scratch or copy an existing one - either
one of your own or one from somebody else that is copyable to you.</p>

<h1>Edit portfolio access</h1>
<p>You can control who has access to your pages and collections. By default, only you can see your pages and collections. You can share your portfolios with the public, registered people, your institution(s), groups, or your friends. You can assign access to individual groups or people by using the options under "Share with" → "Search for...".</p>
<p>Access dates can be set, allowing you to make your portfolios available for a specified period such as a course year, a project timeline, or even for one day only. All dates are optional. Individual people can be granted access by multiple access rules.</p>
<p><strong>Example:</strong> Nigel is in the group "The Coolpeople's Club". If you allow him to access your page today and allow "The Coolpeople's Club" to access your page tomorrow, he will be able to access the page on both days.</p>

<h1>Import a portfolio</h1>
<p>You can import your (or any valid Leap2A) portfolio from another Mahara site yourself.</p>
<p>During the import process, you will be asked what you want to do with content that is in your import file. You can decide whether you want to add it to your account or whether you want to ignore it.</p>
<p>You can only import a Leap2A file, but not an HTML file. If you want to import content from another Mahara site, go there and export your portfolio as Leap2A file. You do not have to export your entire portfolio, but you can choose which pages or collections and thus the artefacts contained on them you wish to export.</p>

<p>You can add multiple tags to limit the results as well as indicate which tags you want to ignore.</p>
<p>If you select multiple tags, a journal entry must match <strong>ALL</strong> selected tags in order to be listed.</p>

<h1>Resize large images on upload</h1>
<p>If enabled, any images which are larger than the height and width specified will be resized to fit the size limit.</p>
<p>This is highly recommended for images intended for normal display in a web browser. Very large images (e.g. straight from a digital camera) are slow to load in the browser and take up disk space unnecessarily, quickly using up your quota.
There is also no loss in quality when viewing on a typical monitor.</p>

<p>Se abilitato, le immagini che sono più grandi in altezza ed in larghezza rispetto alle dimensioni specificate, saranno ridimensionate per essere adattate alle dimensioni consentite. </p>
<p>Questa opzione è fortemente raccomandata per le immagini destinate alla normale visualizzazione nel browser. Le immagini molto grandi (ad esempio, prese direttamente da una fotocamera digitale) si caricano molto lentamente nel browser ed occupano inutilmente lo spazio sul disco, utilizzando rapidamente la vostra quota.
Non c'è perdita di qualità durante la visualizzazione in un monitor standard.</p>
<p>Tuttavia, si potrebbe desiderare di caricare l'originale <strong>senza</strong> ridimensionarlo se si sta condividendo l'immagine per stamparla.</p>

The profile pictures area allows you to upload pictures that will appear
beside your name in many places in the system.

You may have up to five pictures in your profile pictures area at once.
Pictures you upload must be at least 16x16 pixels and no greater than
1024x1024 pixels. The images you upload count towards your file quota.
</p>
<p>
Your default profile picture will be shown to other people beside your name
around the site, and you may use the other images in the pages you create.
</p>
<p>
<strong>Note:</strong> All of your profile pictures (not just the default one)
can be accessed by other logged-in people. Delete them if you do not want
others to see them.
