This package has two functions. One reads a Affymetrix chip description file (CDF) and creates a hash table environment containing the location/probe set membership mapping. The other creates a package that automatically loads that environment.

GNU R package for Q-value estimation for FDR control
Summary
Translated by Michael Vogt
Located in Package: r-bioc-qvalue

This package takes a list of p-values resulting from the simultaneous testing of many hypotheses and estimates their q-values. The q-value of a test measures the proportion of false positives incurred (called the false discovery rate) when that particular test is called significant. Various plots are automatically generated, allowing one to make sensible significance cut-offs. Several mathematical results have recently been shown on the conservative accuracy of the estimated q-values from this software. The software can be applied to problems in genomics, brain imaging, astrophysics, and data mining.
Description

GNU R abind multi-dimensional array combination function
Summary
Translated by Michael Vogt
Located in Package: r-cran-abind
67428.
This package provides the abind function, a generalization of the cbind and rbind function in the R base package. The abind function takes a sequence of vectors, matrices, or arrays and produces a single array of the same or higher dimension.
Description

GNU R package supporting multiple imputation of missing data
Summary
(no translation yet)
Located in Package: r-cran-amelia
67430.
Amelia II "multiply imputes" missing data in a single cross-section (such as a survey), from a time series (like variables collected for each year in a country), or from a time-series-cross-sectional data set (such as collected by years for each of several countries). Amelia II implements our bootstrapping-based algorithm that gives essentially the same answers as the standard IP or EMis approaches, is usually considerably faster than existing approaches and can handle many more variables.

The program also generalizes existing approaches by allowing for trends in time series across observations within a cross-sectional unit, as well as priors that allow experts to incorporate beliefs they have about the values of missing cells in their data. Amelia II also includes useful diagnostics of the fit of multiple imputation models. The program works from the R command line or via a graphical user interface that does not require users to know R.
