There are two resolution settings, 352x288 and 176x144. Photo data
![](/@@/translation-newline)
is in JPEG format when downloaded and thus has no predetermined
![](/@@/translation-newline)
size. Therefore, the advertised maximum number of photos the
![](/@@/translation-newline)
camera can hold must be understood as an approximation.
![](/@@/translation-newline)
All gphoto2 options will work, except for the following which
![](/@@/translation-newline)
the hardware will not support:
[tab]
Deletion of individual or selected photos (gphoto2 -d)
[tab]
Capture (gphoto2 --capture or --capture-image)
![](/@@/translation-newline)
However, capture is possible using the webcam interface,
![](/@@/translation-newline)
supported by the spca50x kernel module.
![](/@@/translation-newline)
GUI access using gtkam has been tested, and works. However,
![](/@@/translation-newline)
the camera does not produce separate thumbnails. Since the images
![](/@@/translation-newline)
are in any event already small and of low resolution, the driver
![](/@@/translation-newline)
merely downloads the actual images to use as thumbnails.
![](/@@/translation-newline)
The camera can shoot in 'video clip' mode. The resulting frames
![](/@@/translation-newline)
are saved here as a succession of still photos. The user can
![](/@@/translation-newline)
animate them using (for example) ImageMagick's 'animate' function.
