In some cases, the wireless network device may need a restricted driver in order to operate. The best way to check this is to open the application named <application>Jockey</application>. To open <application>Jockey</application>, go to <menuchoice><guimenu>Kickoff Application Launcher</guimenu><guisubmenu>Applications</guisubmenu><guisubmenu>System</guisubmenu><guimenuitem>Hardware Deivers</guimenuitem></menuchoice>. If the wireless network device requires a restricted driver, <application>Jockey</application> will provide that information and assist with selecting, installing and activating the proper driver. When this step is completed, wireless connections can be configured. The machine must be rebooted before the newly installed, restricted driver will make the wireless device work.
