Edit the <filename>/etc/sane.d/dll.conf</filename> and enable the right driver for your scanner. You can do this by pressing <keysym>Alt-F2</keysym> on your keyboard then typing <command>sudo gedit /etc/sane.d/dll.conf</command> and pressing Run. Look for the lines that say:
