The name <phrase>Xubuntu</phrase> indicates the combination of the Xfce Desktop Environment with <phrase>Ubuntu</phrase>. Xfce used to stand for "XForms Common Environment", but since it's not based on XForms anymore, does not mean anything today. <phrase>Ubuntu</phrase> means approximately "humanity towards others" in the languages of Zulu and Xhosa. Combined, it does not really mean anything.
