The default office application in <phrase>Kubuntu</phrase> is LibreOffice. This office suite includes Writer, Calc, Draw, Impress and Math. This suite is the open source equivalent of the Microsoft Office suite, and each application corresponds to a similar product in that line. Calc is similar to Excel, Writer is like Word, Impress is similar to PowerPoint, Base and Access have similar functions. LibreOffice applications work well with the files created by their Microsoft counterparts, with the exception of Microsoft Access files.

Libre Office stanowi Open Source'owy odpowiednik pakietu Microsoft Office suite, a każdy z jego elementów odpowiada jednej z aplikacji firmy Microsoft. Calc jest podobny do Excela, Writer do Worda, Impress jest odpowiednikiem PowerPointa, zaś Base posiada podobne funkcje jak Access. Aplikacje pakietu LibreOffice umożliwiają bezproblemową edycję plików stworzonych w pakiecie Microsoft Office, za wyjątkiem plików bazy danych Access.
