Jadro so SELinux obsahuje nové komponenty pôvodne vyvinuté na zlepšenie bezpečnosti operačného systému Flask. Tieto architekturálne komponenty poskytujú všeobecnú podporu vynucovania mnohých druhov politík povinného riadenia prístupu vrátane tých, ktoré sú založené na koncepte vynútenia typu, riadenia prístupu na základe rolí a viacvrstvovej bezpečnosti.
