D-ITG (Distributed Internet Traffic Generator) is a platform capable to produce traffic at packet level accurately replicating appropriate stochastic processes for both IDT (Inter Departure Time) and PS (Packet Size) random variables (exponential, uniform, cauchy, normal, pareto, ...). D-ITG supports both IPv4 and IPv6 traffic generation and it is capable to generate traffic at network, transport, and application layer. We believe that D-ITG shows interesting properties when compared to other traffic generators.

D-ITG (Distributed Internet Traffic Generator) est une plateforme capable de créer du trafic au niveau du paquet, reproduisant précisément les processus stochastiques appropriés pour des variables aléatoires IDT (Inter Departure Time) et PS (Packet Size) (exponentielles, uniformes, Cauchy, normales, Pareto…). D-ITG gère la création de trafic IPv4 et IPv6 et peut générer du trafic au niveau réseau, transport et application. L’auteur de ces lignes pense que D-ITG présente des propriétés intéressantes en comparaison d’autres générateurs de trafic.
