When installing <phrase>Kubuntu</phrase> via a DVDROM, all of the KDE Games are installed. However, when installing <phrase>Kubuntu</phrase> from a CDROM, no KDE Games are installed, due to the lack of available space on the CDROM. It is simple to install games after a CDROM install. Windows-based games do not operate natively in <phrase>Kubuntu</phrase>. However there are applications available that allow playing some Windows-based games. Cedega (listed below) is popular among gamers, though it isn't a free service. PlayOnLinux (listed below) is another popular application which is free of charge. Wine (listed below) is a more advanced application. For gaming, both Cedega and PlayOnLinux are recommended over Wine.
