Make a backup copy of your existing <filename>/etc/X11/xorg.conf</filename> file. To do so, open <application>Konsole</application> by going to <menuchoice><guimenu>KMenu</guimenu><guisubmenu>System</guisubmenu><guimenuitem>Konsole - Terminal Program</guimenuitem></menuchoice>. At the command prompt type the following and then press the <keycap>Enter</keycap> key (if asked for a password, type in your user password followed by the <keycap>Enter</keycap> key): <screen>
sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf_backup
</screen>
