Please note that the <application>File Manager</application> will always ask you whether you want to <emphasis>permanently</emphasis> delete files when you click on "delete". If you want to set up a different background image, do:

Launch <menuchoice><guimenu>Applications</guimenu><guimenuitem>Settings</guimenuitem><guimenuitem>Settings Manager</guimenuitem></menuchoice>.

Choose <option>Desktop</option>.

In the section <option>Image</option>, click on the file icon. This will bring up up a <emphasis>open file dialog</emphasis>, where you can choose an alternative image.

To have minimized application icons instead of file/launcher icons displayed on your desktop, do this:

Choose <option>Desktop</option>, and then the tab <option>Behaviour</option>.
