<p>You can import your (or any valid Leap2A) portfolio from another Mahara site yourself.</p>
<p>During the import process, you will be asked what you want to do with content that is in your import file. You can decide whether you want to add it to your account or whether you want to ignore it.</p>
<p>You can only import a Leap2A file, but not an HTML file. If you want to import content from another Mahara site, go there and export your portfolio as Leap2A file. You do not have to export your entire portfolio, but you can choose which pages or collections and thus the artefacts contained on them you wish to export.</p>

<p>If your ePortfolio account is not created by your institution, you will need to register yourself. In this case, complete and submit this registration form. An email will be sent to your address. This will contain a clickable link – follow this to confirm your account and log in to the system. If you do not receive this email within 24 hours, please check your email junk filter. If you have any problems registering, please contact the site administrator.</p>
<p><strong>Note:</strong> The email link is only valid for 24 hours. After this you must repeat the process.</p>
<p>You will then be prompted to complete any mandatory profile fields and have the opportunity to upload a profile picture. Once registered, you will need to enter your username and password in order to log in to your portfolio.</p>

<p>If you have forgotten your username or password, the site can send you a message telling you your username. It also provides you with a link where you can reset your password. Enter your username or primary email address in the box and click "Send request". You will receive an email automatically. To change your password, follow the link in the email to confirm your reset request.</p>

<h1>Passworterinnerung</h1>
<p>Wenndas Passwort vergessen wurde, kann die Mahara Plattform eine E-Mail mit dem Nutzernamen verschicken und einen Link zusenden, um das Passwort zurückzusetzen. Gib in der Eingabemaske den Nutzernamen oder die E-Mail-Adresse ein und klicke auf 'Anforderung abschicken'. Automatisch wird eine E-Mail verschickt. Zum Ändern des Passworts einfach auf den Link in der E-Mail klicken und die Passwortänderung einleiten.</p>

<h1>Theme</h1>
<p>Where multiple themes have been installed, you will be able to select via a drop-down menu which theme to apply to your site. This theme will be the default theme shown to logged-out people.</p>
<p>Institutions can also have a default theme set, which is shown to members in that institution when they log in or to other people when they navigate to portfolios created by members of that Institutions. You can configure themes for institutions in the <a href="../users/institutions.php">Institutions</a> section.

<p>Your login details will either be the username and password you entered during registration or that were assigned to you by an administrator.</p>
<p>In some cases, you may not be able to use this login box, but will have a different way of logging in, e.g. via Moodle or single sign-on. Your administrator will have told you where to log in if that is the case.</p>
<p>Click the "<a href="forgotpass.php">Lost username / password</a>" link to request a password reset at any time. If your authentication method is managed elsewhere, you will receive an error message and will need to contact your administrator to find out where you can reset your account details.</p>
<p>If you logged in to the site a while ago, you will be logged out automatically after a period of inactivity. That is for your security. You will be prompted to log in again.</p>
<p><strong>Note:</strong> This site requires a recent version of Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer or Safari.</p>

<p>If you set a parent authority, people will be able to log in using that authority and log in via Moodle.</p>
<p>For example, you could set up LDAP and have that be the parent of this authentication method. That means that people will be able to log in via Mahara's built-in login form using their LDAP credentials, and they can also log in via Moodle and get into the same account.</p>

<p>A page contains a selection of artefacts which you arrange and present to
others. These may include:</p>

<p>You can re-use the artefacts that you collected under "Content" in as many pages as you wish.</p>
<h2>Collections</h2>
<p>A collection is a set of pages that are linked to one another and have the
same access permissions. You can create as many collections as you like, but a page cannot appear in more than one collection.</p>
<p>You can create a collection from scratch or copy an existing one - either
one of your own or one from somebody else that is copyable to you.</p>

<h1>Edit portfolio access</h1>
<p>You can control who has access to your pages and collections. By default, only you can see your pages and collections. You can share your portfolios with the public, registered people, your institution(s), groups, or your friends. You can assign access to individual groups or people by using the options under "Share with" → "Search for...".</p>
<p>Access dates can be set, allowing you to make your portfolios available for a specified period such as a course year, a project timeline, or even for one day only. All dates are optional. Individual people can be granted access by multiple access rules.</p>
<p><strong>Example:</strong> Nigel is in the group "The Coolpeople's Club". If you allow him to access your page today and allow "The Coolpeople's Club" to access your page tomorrow, he will be able to access the page on both days.</p>

their profile page. Depending on their friendship control settings, you may
be automatically accepted as their friend or you may need to send a
friendship request. Some people may not allow friendship requests at all.</p>
<p>When sending a friendship request, you can choose to include a short message
introducing yourself. This is especially important if you have a display name
set as others will not see your real name.</p>
<p>You can also see a list of your current and pending friends.</p>
<p>A person can resubmit a friendship request to you, even if you have previously rejected their request.</p>
