The Manager window

The Manager window lets you organize your stashes. You can mount or unmount stashes by clicking on the checkbox in the list or by using the toolbar / menu buttons. If you want to change the order, in which the stashes are shown in the manager and in the tray menu, you can do so by dragging them around inside the list.

The preferences window allows you to set some general options regarding GEncfsM:

Enabling this option adds GEncfsM to the autostart configuration, so it is automatically launched each time you log in.

When this option is enabled, the Manager Window won't show up when GEncfsM starts.

Under normal circumstances it is NOT necessary to unmount the stashes on logout. This is only needed, when your stashes are mounted on top of another filesystem that is unmounted after logout (e.g. an encrypted home through ecryptfs) and then doing a logout/login without restarting the system. So unless you use an encrypted home and mount your stashes inside, you can disable this.

The "Create or import a stash" dialog allows you to create a new stash or to import an existing stash, depending on whether the selected stash directory already contains a stash or not. This is determined by looking for an encfs configuration file (normally ".encfs6.xml"). The list of configuration files can be adjusted in dconf-editor when needed. When you select custom folders, they will be treated as relative to the "mount-dir-base" directory (default is "$HOME/Encfs") unless the selected path is absolute. The proposed mount directory removes a leading dot and a trailing "-encfs" or "_encfs" because a lot of people name their stash directories in those ways. One thing to notice when using GEncfsM is that all stash directories must have their own mount directories.

The "Configure stash" dialog allows you to adjust, how GEncfsM handles the respective stash. The following options are available:

You can change the mount directory when the stash is not in use, else this field is inactive. You can either specify an existing or a non-existing folder.
