Unlike most computers where you are actively encouraged not to touch the monitor for fear of leaving grubby finger smudges all over, with a Freedom Toaster you must touch in order to do anything. Instead of using a keyboard or mouse device Freedom Toasters use a special touch screen monitor as the primary human machine interface.

Freedom Toasters have feelings. They react best when touched gently, but firmly, with clean and dry fingers. Improved performance and response can be obtained by ensuring that you only use the very tip of your index finger when touching the monitor.
