DirectVNC is a client implementing the remote framebuffer protocol (rfb) which is used by VNC servers. If a VNC server is running on a machine you can connect to it using this client and have the contents of its display shown on your screen. Keyboard and mouse events are sent to the server, so you can basically control a VNC server remotely.

DirectVNC est un client mettant en œuvre le protocole RFB (Remote Frame Buffer) utilisé par les serveurs VNC. Si un serveur VNC est en cours d’exécution sur une machine, un utilisateur peut s'y connecter en utilisant ce client et avoir le contenu de l’affichage de cette machine présenté sur son écran, tandis que les évènements du clavier et de la souris seront envoyés au serveur. L’utilisateur pourra ainsi contrôler la machine à distance.
